I speak Bengali and grew up in the Bengali community in Paterson. I have a total of 15 years of experience in the healthcare field. My education includes a Bachelors degree in Biological Science, Bachelor's degree in Nursing, and a Master's degree in Family Nurse Practitioner from Rutgers State University (formerly known as UMDNJ). I am Board Certified as an FNP by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP).
During my Nursing career, I worked in a variety of settings, including the Emergency room, the Med-Surgical unit, Visiting Nurse Services, and Addiction/Behavioral health. After further training, I became a Family Nurse Practitioner and worked in Primary Care providing services to adults and geriatrics. In addition, I have many years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner in community Palliative Care working with the elderly population with complex health issues and end-of-life challenges.
My goal is to improve the health and quality of life of my patients by focusing on the underlying/root causes of illness from a preventative, lifestyle, medical/psychosocial model of care.
